I won! I won!

The other day I was telling you about Charla Anne's new dollhouse pattern and she has very cleverly made a pattern for the dolls and clothes that go together... Well Charla Anne hosted a giveaway for the doll pattern and.... I WON!!!

I'm so excited!! My pack is now complete and I can make these pretty little things for my Sunny!
Sunny was so excited that she's going to get a new dollhouse and dolls with clothes that she's walking around the house like my new found tail and saying "Mummy make it now! I want to play!"

A very BIG THANK YOU to the talented Charla Anne for making such beautiful things and for sharing them with all of us fellow loving craft addicts! No doubt there will be dozens and dozens of little girls and boys who will adore your creations! I hope one day that I'm just as good and talented as you...

If you haven't yet had a look you can visit Charla Anne's blog here and her etsy shop here... Be quick because these pretties are selling out like hot cakes!

Pretty Little Things...

I'm all about 'Pretty Things'. I love looking at them, making them and watching others enjoy them as much as I do!

Today I bought a pattern for a felt carry dollhouse made by Charla Anne! If you haven't yet come across her blog, do yourself a favour and explore it immediately! She takes the most beautiful photos of her lovely family and the 'Pretty Things' that she makes!

Now Charla Anne created a gorgeous carry dollhouse that folds together as a bag and beautiful little felt dolls with clothes that fit into the house. Well when I showed Sunny the pictures her reaction was: 'That's beautiful mummy! I want to make it for my house!' So yes I hopped right on over to Charla Anne's shop and bought the pattern for the dollhouse.

So here is my very own pattern and I'm ready to make it for my Sunny!

And here's a sneak peek at what it looks like on the inside...

Now there is a doll pattern with clothes that go together with this so keep checking up here because I'll definitely be purchasing it as soon as it comes out!

Gorgeous isn't it!

My Quilts...

I'm in the process of working on two quilts... A hand pieced Hexi Quilt and a quilt made of Half-Square Triangle. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has 2 or more projects going on at once!

If you've been on Modern Day Mummying then you would see that I've been working on a hand pieced Hexi Quilt for a few weeks now. It's a long process but one that I'm enjoying very much! I'm up to my 21st 1 1/4" flower! Not long before I actually piece them together!

I have started on a new quilt this weekend. A machine stitched one so this it should take me no time at all! I've fallen in love with Domestic Bliss by Moda and have decided to make a Half-Square Triangle Quilt with a few of the Domestic Bliss Charm Packs!

This is the first time I'm attempting this and it looks simple enough... and guess what! It is pretty simple! I matched it up to some natural looking quilting cotton that I bought by the metre at Spotlight and cut it up into 5" squares. Putting the pieces together is easy peasy, especially if you have all the tools you need handy! The only thing you have to worry about when making this quilt is what pattern are you going to sew the pieces together?!

May I just say that the 4 1/2" square ruler is the best invention since sliced bread! I love it! It has made this whole cutting squares thing such a breeze and I know that each square is EQUAL! Something that's kind of important if you're like me and need everything to match to a tee or if you want your quilt to work out according to instructions!

Well I must get back to it... Stay tuned to see how the Half-Square Triangle Quilt comes together... And after that I still have the 'Trade Winds' and 'Good Fortune' Moda Charm Packs to create with...

Ohhh... The possibilities!

About Me!

Welcome to my 'Making Space'! My name is Sophie and this is a blog about all the pretty things that I make... I have a beautiful little girl called Sunny and I blog about my life as a mummy (and more) over at Modern Day Mummying!

Take a look!

Me and My Sunny over at Modern Day Mummying

Apart from my beautiful baby, my loves include: shoes, chocolate, coffee, more shoes, crafting – quilting at the moment to be exact, sewing, fashion, discovering and following inspiring crafty and fashion blogs, more shoes, hoarding beautiful fabric and cooking, baking and eating!

So here is where I'll be posting about my crafting, quilting, sewing, applique projects and anything crafty that catches my eye! I'm a self-taught crafter... With a little help from my BIG sister (that's what they're for)! I love discovering and trying new things and hope to have 'real' style one day! I love things vintage and girly with a bit of a modern twist.

I hope you'll enjoy my "Making Space"... Thanks for stopping by.
